About bidding zone SE2
SE2 covers southern Norrland. Like SE1 it has a lot of hydropower and wind power relative to consumption, and the price is usually close to SE1.
When transmission to central Sweden has spare capacity, SE2 moves up towards SE3. The gap between SE2 and SE3 therefore says a lot about how constrained the grid southwards is.
The spot price is only part of the cost. Grid fees, energy tax, VAT and the supplier's markup are added, and for larger consumers the peaks drive a large share of the grid fee.
